Contraindications of TempSure •   A cut, wound, or infected skin on the area to be treated •   The patient is on local, oral, or systemic anesthetic agents when using Envi Handpieces •   The patient is unable to wear ocular shields when required •   Women who are pregnant and/or breastfeeding •   Clients with nerve insensitivity to heat anywhere in the treatment area should not be treated. Treatment of clients with nerve insensitivity may lead to burns or injury •   Do not treat over a previously-treated area if there are any unresolved nodules, firmness, or other adverse side effects.
Contraindications of PicoSure
•   Suitability. A qualified practitioner is solely responsible for evaluating each subject's suitability to undergo laser treatment and for informing those being treated about any risks involved with the treatment, pre- and post treatment care, and any other relevant information.
•   Therapy using the PicoSure laser is contraindicated for those patients who:     
                 - Are hypersensitive to light in the near infrared wavelength region                 
                 - Take medication which is known to increase sensitivity to sunlight
                 - Have seizure disorders triggered by light
                 - Take or have taken oral isotretinoin, such as Accutane®, within the last six months
                 - Have an active localized or systemic infection, or an open wound in area being treated
                 - Have a significant systemic illness, such as lupus, or an illness localized in area being treated
                 - Have common acquired nevi that are predisposed to the development of malignant melanoma
                 - Have herpes simplex in the area being treated
                 - Are receiving or have received gold therapy
                 - Are pregnant or breast feeding (lactating)
Contraindications of Elite iQ
Therapy using the system is contraindicated for those patients who: •   Are hypersensitive to light in the near infrared wavelength region •   Have sun-damaged skin (treatment contraindicated with Alex laser only) •   Have recent unprotected sun exposure (for Alex laser within four weeks of treatment; for YAG laser within one week of treatment), including the use of tanning beds or tanning products, such as creams, lotions and sprays •   Take medication which is known to increase sensitivity to sunlight •   Have seizure disorders triggered by light •   Take anticoagulants •   Take or have taken oral isotretinoin, such as Accutane®, within the last six months •   Take medication that alters the wound-healing response •   Have a history of healing problems or history of keloid formation •   Have an active localized or systemic infection, or an open wound in area being treated •   Have a significant systemic illness or an illness localized in area being treated
•   Have a history of skin cancer or suspicious lesions •   Have lupus •   Are receiving or have received gold therapy •   Are pregnant
Exclusion criteria for treatment of onychomycosis (in addition to the aforementioned contraindications): •   Use of topical antifungal therapies which change nail pigmentation •   Use of nail coloring dyes which change nail pigmentation •   Existence of subungual hematoma or nevoid subungual formation •   Existence of bacterial nail infection, which resulted in nail pigmentation •   Existence of concomitant nail disorders such as psoriasis of nail plate, lichen planus and atopic dermatitis
